STATE-OF-THE-ART ENDOD (ROOT CANAL THERAPY)
Relieve Pain.
Save Your Natural Tooth.
When infection or damage reaches the inside of a tooth, root canal therapy can often save it from extraction. Using advanced endodontic techniques and modern technology, we gently remove the infection, relieve discomfort, and restore the health and function of your tooth. At Turner & Romanko, our goal is to make root canal treatment as comfortable, efficient, and stress-free as possible.
What Is Root Canal Therapy?
Root canal therapy, also known as endodontic treatment, is a procedure used to save a tooth that has become severely infected, inflamed, or damaged. Inside every tooth is a soft tissue called the pulp, which contains nerves and blood vessels. When this pulp becomes infected due to deep decay, a crack, trauma, or repeated dental procedures, it can cause significant pain and, if left untreated, may lead to an abscess or tooth loss.
During root canal therapy, the infected pulp is carefully removed, the inside of the tooth is cleaned and disinfected, and the canals are sealed to prevent future infection. In most cases, the treated tooth is then restored with a custom dental crown to strengthen and protect it.
At Turner & Romanko, we use advanced endodontic techniques and modern technology to make root canal therapy as precise and comfortable as possible. Rather than removing the tooth, root canal treatment allows us to preserve your natural smile, relieve pain, and restore normal function so you can continue eating, speaking, and smiling with confidence.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everything You Need to Know About Root Canal Therapy
Root canal therapy has helped millions of people save their natural teeth and relieve dental pain. We've answered some of the most common questions to help you understand the procedure, what to expect, and how it can restore your oral health.
-
Root canal therapy is a procedure that removes infected or damaged tissue from inside a tooth, cleans and disinfects the root canals, and seals the tooth to prevent future infection. In most cases, the tooth is then restored with a custom dental crown for added strength and protection.
-
Common signs include severe tooth pain, lingering sensitivity to hot or cold, swelling around the gums, pain when chewing, or a darkened tooth. A comprehensive dental exam and X-rays will help determine if root canal therapy is the right treatment.
-
Modern root canal therapy is much more comfortable than many people expect. Using local anesthesia and advanced techniques, the procedure is designed to relieve pain—not cause it. Most patients report that it feels similar to having a routine filling.
-
Most root canal treatments can be completed in one or two appointments, depending on the complexity of the tooth and the extent of the infection. Your dentist will discuss your treatment plan during your consultation.
-
It's normal to experience mild tenderness for a few days following treatment. Once the tooth has healed, it's often restored with a dental crown to protect it and restore its full strength and function.
-
Whenever possible, preserving your natural tooth is the best option. Root canal therapy allows you to maintain your natural bite, chewing ability, and jawbone while avoiding the additional procedures and costs that often come with replacing an extracted tooth.
